The Iowa Senate went a long way toward bolstering parental choice in education earlier this year. Unfortunately, the Iowa House was not able to provide true choice in education to Iowa moms and dads.

However, with the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to expose the education system for what it is, there are still calls to pass school choice legislation.

And Fox News host Greg Gutfeld said it should be the No. 1 principle for every Republican running for office.

“This is a great opportunity to redefine and remake education,” he said. “The teacher’s union has made it clear it’s not about the kids — it’s about them.”

If education is fixed, Gutfeld said crime, racism and other issues would be solved.

“It’s all bubbling out of that same mess in which we stupidly handed over to unions,” he said. “This is the most important thing in our country is education for children…but we have allowed this decay and we’re letting these lunatics control this.”
