Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02) released the following statement on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) new vehicle emissions rule that could reportedly force up to 67% of vehicles in the U.S. to be electric by 2032 to be compliant.

“The Biden Administration’s obsession with electric vehicles has gone too far — these overreaching mandates are ridiculous and completely out of touch with rural America. Those who want to buy an electric vehicle should do so, but the Biden Administration should not be forcing Iowans to comply with their extensive and expensive electric vehicle requirements. I will fight these unrealistic requirements that will hurt middle America, and instead champion actual solutions, like expanding the use of clean energy sources like Iowa biofuels.” – Congresswoman Ashley Hinson

  1. Dear Representative Hinson, with due respect this is one of the reasons Tama County censured you on your voting record. Failure to recognize what “ this “ Administration stands for to turn a blind eye! One cannot pick at choose what standards to uphold at one’s will! Either one should be one ONE side of the fence or on the other! To flip flop is “ playing “ the political game and that’s not acceptable for this Iowan! Nor is stand on the fence, because I know who owns the fence!
