Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) is unable to attend votes tonight as she continues to work remotely due to COVID-19. The House will consider S. 2959, the Supplemental Impact Aid Flexibility Act. Hinson submitted a personal explanation for the Congressional Record stating that she would have voted in favor of this bill.

“I support the Supplemental Impact Aid Flexibility Act. This bipartisan, bicameral bill ensures that ImpactAid, a federal grant program, is not negatively impacted due to COVID-19. This legislation ensures schools are financially able to continue teaching the children of our brave servicemembers and those from tribal communities. The bill passed both the House and Senate in 2020 and was signed into law by President Trump, and I support extending it through this year.” -Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
