Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02) released the following statement after being re-appointed to serve on the bipartisan Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
“I am honored to continue serving on the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party to confront the generational threat posed by the CCP and ensure we put Americans first. China must face consequences for ripping off our workers, stealing our innovation, and facilitating the flow of fentanyl into the U.S. that poisons our citizens. America must compete to win—especially in defense and emerging technologies like AI as China seeks to gain the upper hand.
“I will continue my leadership to protect our food supply chain and ensure China cannot buy American agricultural land. President Trump’s Golden Age of America will be defined by holding the CCP accountable and securing America’s place as the world’s leading superpower. I look forward to working with the president to accomplish that goal.”
