An act requiring schools to display “in God we trust” will be in subcommittee today in the Iowa House, along with a whole bunch of other pieces of legislation.

HF 489: House File 489 was filed by Rep. Shannon Lundgren. It’s an act relating to pharmacy benefit managers and health carriers and management of prescription drug benefits.

HSB 188: House Study Bill 188 was proposed by Rep. Lee Hein. It’s an act relating to taking a capital gain deduction for the sale of real property used in a farming business.

HSB 200: House Study Bill 200 was proposed by Rep. Shannon Lundgren. It’s an act relating to prior authorization for medication-assisted treatment under the Medicaid program.

HSB 178: House Study Bill 178 was proposed by the Judicial branch. It’s an act concerning jurors, relating to access to certain Department of Revenue taxpayer information for jury list compilation and juror information confidentiality.

HSB 196: House Study Bill 196 was proposed by Rep. Ashley Hinson. It’s an act establishing a shortline railroad restoration tax credit.

HSB 210: House Study Bill 210 was proposed by Rep. Gary Carlson. It’s an act concerning alcoholic beverage control, relating to limitations on business interests of certain manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers of alcoholic beverages.

HSB 184: House Study Bill 184 was proposed by the Department of Human Services. It’s an act relating to juvenile justice, including provisions relating to child foster care and parent visitation in child in need of assistance proceedings.

HSB 197: House Study Bill 197 was proposed by Rep. Ashley Hinson. It’s an act relating to motor vehicle taxes and fees, including registration fees for certain electric vehicles, an excise tax on hydrogen used as special fuel, and an excise tax on electricity used as electric fuel.

HSB 174: House Study Bill 174 was proposed by Rep. Steven Holt. It’s an act relating to debts for which the homestead is liable by providing that the homestead may be sold to satisfy debts secured by a mechanic’s lien, including principal, interest, attorney fees, and costs.

HSB 193: House Study Bill 193 was proposed by Rep. Jarad Klein. It’s an act permitting counties and cities to classify certain fireworks violations as county infractions or municipal infractions.

HF 431: House File 431 was filed by Rep. Dave Deyoe. It’s an act relating to farm tenancies.

HF 429: House File 429 was proposed by Rep. Sandy Salmon. It’s an act relating to human growth and development course enrollment at school districts and to pupil attendance at educational conferences or seminars in which human growth and development information is provided.

The bill prohibits a school district from enrolling a pupil in a course of instruction in human growth and development without the parent or guardian’s written informed consent with the appropriate principal. It also prohibits a school district from facilitating a pupil’s attendance at an educational conference or seminar that includes information on human growth and development.

HSB 207: House Study Bill 207 was proposed by the Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. It’s an act relating to the powers and duties of the Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. It changes the name of the weather bureau, modifying reporting requirements regarding agricultural liming material.

HF 476: House File 476 was filed by Rep. Jarad Klein. It’s an act relating to solar energy system tax credits. The bill increases the maximum cumulative value of solar energy system tax credits eligible to be claimed annually by applicants from $5 million to $10 million.

HF 444: House File 444 was filed by Rep. Skyler Wheeler. It’s an act relating to the display of the national motto by school districts.

The bill requires the boards of directors of school districts to require each school district attendance center to conspicuously display the national motto “in God we trust.”

HSB 192: House Study Bill 192 was proposed by Rep. Jarad Klein. It’s an act establishing an emergency medical services personnel licensure interstate compact.
