On Wednesday, House Homeland Security Democrats opposed H.Res. 1236—Congressman Andy Biggs’s resolution to direct the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary to provide certain documents to the House of Representatives relating to the Disinformation Governance Board. The resolution calls for all communications or coordination between the Department of Homeland Security, the Executive Office of the President, and social media companies regarding misinformation, disinformation, and mal-information or the Disinformation Governance Board.

“Since President Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board mirrored George Orwell’s 1984 society, it’s imperative to find out its intentions and how it came to fruition,”  said Congressman Andy Biggs. “My resolution could have helped provide answers to the American public who rightfully rejected the Biden Administration’s attempt to label all information critical of the Administration and its policies as misinformation.

“It’s appalling to see Democrats on the committee reject my effort to investigate this board. Either they fear what the correspondence will show or are too cowardly to stand up to President Biden and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas when they are failing the country.

“I want to thank those members of the committee that supported my resolution to demand answers from DHS Secretary Mayorkas regarding his attempt to create a DHS-run ministry of truth.”

The resolution can be read here.
