Here are the subcommittee meetings scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 13 in the Iowa House.

1 p.m. – House Study Bill 500 – An act relating to the classification of property enrolled in the federal conservation reserve program and including applicability provisions.

1 p.m. – Senate File 468 – An act removing a preference for purchasing of Iowa coal by state and local government entities.

1 p.m. – HSB 504 – An act relating to identity authentication requirements for public assistance benefits.

1:30 p.m. – HSB 529 – An act relating to the discovery of evidence in criminal cases involving victims of sexual abuse.

This bill provides provisions of rule of evidence 5.412 shall apply to all discovery conducted in a criminal case or post-conviction proceeding including but not limited to depositions.

  1. Is it fair to require a person to prove their identity before handing them tax payor funded benefits? How would this effect the ‘furries”, would they be required ask the animal shelters for assistance…
