Ronna Romney McDaniel was re-elected chair of the Republican National Committee despite last week’s national phone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports that showed just 15 percent of likely Republican voters supported another term.
Thirty percent of those polled said they supported Mike Lindell’s bid for the position while 20 percent backed Harmeet Dhillon. Fifteen percent did not support any of the candidates while 21 percent said they were undecided.
When it comes to helping elect candidates for their party, 40 percent of all likely voters said the Democrat National Committee has been more effective in recent years. Just 20 percent said the RNC has been more effective. Twenty-seven percent said the two organizations have been about equally effective.
Despite the lack of support, especially from grassroots conservatives, McDaniel received 111 votes. That is slightly more than two-thirds of the members. Dhillon registered 51 votes. Lindell received four votes.
McDaniel attempted to paint a united picture after winning, saying the grassroots were “heard.”
Dhillon, however, said the GOP has some work to do as some will believe the party s out of touch with the grassroots based on the result.
As a district Two plank committee member here in Iowa, an article from David Cheng was written called “ The peasants are revolting “ We ousted all of our state committee members, all but one in the first round of voting! We are sick and tired with the GOP and business as usual! If Ronna McDaniel is listening to this grassroots person then, “ please decline your election and step down!”
As another district 2 platform committee person. I think the new state central committee people we elected at district convention ended up voting for Kaufmann again , and Kaufmann , Sheffler and Scott all voted for Ronna. Peasant revolt successfully squashed???
