Republican U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley wants you to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. That’s the message he is pushing in his weekly email to constituents.

“You know, over the last 18 months, there’s been a lot of confusion about the virus and how to respond to it,” he said. “Wear a mask, don’t wear a mask. Social distancing, how far you’re supposed to be apart — sometimes six feet, sometimes three feet. It’s all very confusing. But one sure thing is clear — vaccine work.

“I’m urging you very much, if you haven’t got your shot or the two shots, uh, please go do it. I want you to know that I have had my shots. I didn’t get them as soon as a lot of my colleagues did because I had COVID back in November, but just as soon as time passed, I did. And I’m glad I did. And a lot of the people in my family have as well.

“So protect yourself, but you’re also protecting everybody else. The extent to which more people get vaccinated, it’s helping us win this war against the virus.”
