Some Iowa Democrats are having a hard time understanding how the 2024 Election results can be legitimate. According to a Facebook post, an Iowa Democrat group is pointing out that “something is fishy” regarding the 2020 and 2024 results.

The post highlights the 2020 results, which had Joe Biden receiving 81,283,501 votes compared to Donald J. Trump’s 74,223,975 votes. Then, it highlights that in 2024, Kamala Harris received just 70,382,118 votes while Trump took 74,321,176 votes.

“You mean to tell me with the increased expected turnout and voter registration drives that 11 million less Democrats voted in this election,” the post asks. “Trump’s votes were basically the SAME as last time, not a surprise by 11 million LESS votes came in for Harris? That’s impossible…Dems lost 11 million votes after January 6th, 34 felony convictions, taking away women’s rights? No way.”

The post questions a meeting between Elon Musk and Vladimir Putin. It questions the “little secret” meeting with Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson. It questions why the election was called “within minutes” when it was supposed to take “weeks.”

“Look, I’m not a conspiracy theorist. I’m a math guy,” the post says. “These numbers do not add up.”

According to one Iowa Democrat, Democrats don’t have an Elon Musk.

“We will find out someday how he used his satellites to hack the results,” Pam Chambers said.

Another person, Rosie Weber, said something is “not ringing true.”

“They kept saying we wouldn’t have results until the end of the week then all of a sudden declared winner by Wed. morning,” she said. “Not my President!”

Another member, Shay Fox, said that while they aren’t a conspiracy theorist, “you gotta set the criminals up to do illegal stuff in order to catch them doing illegal stuff.”

“I’m trying not to get my hopes up,” they said. “But I’m watching.”

Jackie Greenfield said “this better be investigated – fraud!”

Theresa Kramer summed it up simply, saying “of course it was rigged!”

Others cautioned against the idea that the 2024 election was rigged in Trump’s favor.

None of them, however, have compared the 2020 and 2024 numbers to previous numbers. Perhaps we should take a look back at the last five presidential elections and compare the amount of votes every Democrat candidate received.

2008: Barack Obama – 69,498,516
2012: Barack Obama – 65,915,795
2016: Hillary Clinton – 65,853,514
2020: Joe Biden – 81,283,501
2024: Kamala Harris – 72,372,332 (still counting)

It seems the post is on to something. The numbers don’t add up. But it sure doesn’t appear like the 2024 Election is the outlier. Perhaps the 2020 Election is the one that doesn’t add up — you know, just like we’ve been saying for four years.
