The Iowa Firearms Coalition (IFC) released their first video ad ahead of Election Day. The ad aims to encourage membership to the organization and educate viewers why leaders in Iowa’s law enforcement community plan to vote in favor of the Freedom Amendment.

The Freedom Amendment, if approved by voters, will add Second Amendment protections to Iowa’s state constitution. Only six states, which includes Iowa, Minnesota, Maryland, California, New York and New Jersey, do not already have their own versions of the Freedom Amendment in their respective state constitutions.

IFC’s ad highlights Cedar County Sheriff Warren Wethington, an IFC Board Member who has received national and state-wide attention for his efforts to safeguard the civil liberties of those he serves in his community.

“Sheriff Wethington has become a symbol of liberty, freedom and civil rights in Iowa, who is respected and supported by folks of all political stripes,” said IFC President, Dave Funk. “Sheriff Wethington understands the importance of having state-level protections for our most important constitutional rights, and we are grateful for his support.”

The Iowa Firearms Coalition, an affiliate of the NRA and NSSF, is a 501(c4) nonprofit and is Iowa’s only effective pro-Second Amendment rights organization.
