One of the Iowa House races we’ll be watching from afar tonight is in House District 91. Republican Mark Cisneros is vying to become the first Hispanic to serve in the Iowa legislature.

Cisneros says his opponent, Democrat Kelcey Brackett, supports defunding the police as he signed a pledge suggesting model legislation to create a commission that would study taking funds from police and redirecting them to different community programs.

More than that, Brackett called for removing the words “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance and “In God We Trust” from American currency, according to Cisneros.

Brackett also claimed that “most religion is bullshit” on Facebook in April of 2015, according to Cisneros.

It will be interesting to see who the voters elect.
