The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association PAC announced a bipartisan group of 13 lawmakers who received recognition as a “Champion of Renewable Fuels.”

The organization touted once more the fuel mandate bill that passed the Iowa legislature earlier this year, calling it a “historic achievement.”

Iowa Renewable Fuels Association PAC awarded Democrat Senators Zach Wahls and Todd Taylor along with Republican Senators Jack Whitver, Annette Sweeney and Waylon Brown.

The group recognized Democrat Representatives Jennifer Konfrst, Sharon Steckman and Dave Jacoby in the House. Republican Representatives Matt Windschitl, Pat Grassley, Chad Ingels, Dave Sieck and Norlin Mommsen were also recognized.

According to Open Secrets, Iowa Renewable Fuels Association gave $8,000 to Democrats in 2020 and $5,000 to Republicans.

  1. Ethanol is a crock, but Iowa politicians are wholly owned by the corn and ethanol lobbies. If ethanol was worth anything, it wouldn’t need mandates. Let the free market work.
