Iowa State Sen. Janet Petersen (D-Des Moines) wrote a letter to the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services on June 15 addressing her concerns on maternity services in Iowa.

The Quad-City Times reported about this letter in an article discussing what could be next for Iowa’s abortion laws if the Supreme Court would overturn Roe v. Wade.

Petersen wrote:

“As hospitals are dumping labor & delivery services at record speed, our state is becoming a more dangerous place for birthing parents and their babies.”

Nationally, Democrats have attacked gender-specific words like man and woman. The Biden Administration also switched from “mothers” to “birthing people” in maternal health guidance.

Democrats even proposed to ban words like “he,” and “she” as well as all gender-specific words in Congress.

  1. How many people gave birth that were not mothers? Stop with the rewriting the English language. All that useage of language does is destroy your credibility. On second thought, maybe it speaks volumes about your understanding of basic biology. Which in turn speaks volumes about your observational and reading skills.
