Nineteen months removed from the Jan. 6 protests at the United States Capitol and there still has been zero justice for the family of Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force veteran who was killed despite being unarmed at the Capitol.

The cop who killed her had previous problems, such as leaving his service weapon in a Capitol bathroom unattended, yet has faced no consequences.

Imagine the outrage had roles been reversed. And an unarmed black woman was killed by a white police officer. Would Democrats be silent? Would the cop face zero consequences?

Yet Iowa’s own Republican congressional delegation remains silent 18 months after the fact.

Late last year we sent an email to the offices of Sen. Chuck Grassley, Sen. Joni Ernst, Rep. Randy Feenstra, Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Rep. Ashley Hinson. We asked a few questions:

1. What, if anything, are you doing to ensure the political prisoners from Jan. 6 are being treated fairly and with dignity?
2. How are you verifying treatment of these prisoners?
3. Are you comfortable with the continued imprisonment of these individuals?
4. Do you support the letter demanding the immediate termination of Warden Landerkin?
5. Are you satisfied the family of Ashli Babbitt has received justice?

All five members of the GOP congressional delegation — who all voted to certify the 2020 Presidential Election — failed to respond.

Babbitt’s husband appeared on Tucker Carlson one month ago after the Jan. 6 primetime hearing. Aaron Babbitt told Carlson he wasn’t surprised Ashli wasn’t mentioned during the hearing.

Babbitt said when Rudy Giuliani asked the Jan. 6 Committee if they’d be talking about Ashli Babbitt, the members blankly stared at him and then looked down.

“I knew they weren’t going to be talking about Ashli at this thing,” Aaron said. “I truly believe in my heart that they know it’s murder. So, if they can’t admit to it, so they have to just bypass it and blow by it and just act like it never happened.”

But it did happen. And it cannot be forgotten.

The fact Iowa’s Republican congressional delegation has all but ignored it and moved on is troubling.

Carlson closed by inviting members Congress to go on his show and explain how many other unarmed women should be shot to death because they have the wrong politics.

Contact Iowa’s Republican delegation and ask them the same questions we posed late last year. Here are those questions once again, followed by their contact pages:

2. How are you verifying treatment of these prisoners?
3. Are you comfortable with the continued imprisonment of these individuals?
