As we look around us this week, there a lot of things that aren’t what they should be. A Muslim socialist has been elected mayor of the largest city in the U.S. For us in Virginia, a far-left ideologue has been elected Governor, a Muslim socialist has been elected Lt. Governor, and a man who imagines the violent deaths of the children of his political opponent has been elected Attorney General.
Crime is rampant in many cities and communities. Young people are raging and committing crimes of anger with no remorse. Corruption at the highest levels of government often goes unpunished. Antisemitism dominates our university campuses.
Nevertheless, Christians, above all should be grateful. We know the outcome of it all – victory for righteousness. We are saved, and God is still on the throne!
- Many young people, especially young men, are becoming aware of their need for salvation and submitting to Jesus Christ.
- Bible sales are skyrocketing.
- Americans above all people of the earth can be thankful for our unparalleled freedom, bounty, and opportunity.
- We now have a President who respects the rule of law and is working strenuously to restore Judeo-Christian values and common sense.
- The economy is recovering, jobs are returning, and more Americans are working because the border is secure and illegal aliens are being deported as they should.
- While prices still need to come down, inflation has returned to near normal levels. The cost of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner is cheaper than last year.
- The price of gasoline has declined from the highs of the Biden years.
- The Iran nuclear threat has been eliminated. Hamas is all but destroyed and there are serious prospects of peace in the Middle East.
- It appears that even the Russian war against Ukraine may be finally coming to an end.
The Apostle Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
As we celebrate Thanksgiving Day, let us remember that no matter how bad things appear, there is always much for which to be thankful.
The Pilgrims who landed on the Mayflower celebrated the first feast of Thanksgiving after a winter of disease, hunger, and death, which saw half their settlement lost. Yet they were grateful that God had enabled them to continue building a new life in the New World.
Whatever your particular circumstances might be this week, remember to thank God for the blessings He continues to shower on your life. Please pray for us that we have the resources to continue the fight to preserve and unite our Constitutional Republic and the Judeo-Christian foundation upon which it rests.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and may God continue to bless you, your family, and the United States of America.
