Bishop E.W. Jackson announced his endorsement of President Donald J. Trump on Wednesday.

Jackson opened his brief video by acknowledging he is an American of African ancestry.

“My great-grandparents were slaves here in Virginia,” Jackson said. “I deplore racism, but I’m voting for Donald J. Trump for President, and I urge black Christians to do the same.

“We’ve been told that President Trump is a racist. That is a lie by godless people who hate Christianity, hate the Bible, promote homosexuality and gender confusion in innocent children, and love aborting babies up until the moment before birth.”

Democrats have done nothing about inner-city violence for decades, Jackson said.

“They’ve done nothing about poor education and lack of jobs and decent housing,” he said. “They simply use accusations of racism to frighten black voters to vote for them to do what? President Trump’s record is fighting for safe streets, quality education, jobs and a better life for you and your children.

“Vote Donald Trump for President.”
