AnnElizabeth Konkel, an economist at Indeed Hiring Lab, noted that there was a 34 percent increase in the week ending Aug. 7 of job postings per million that explicitly mention COVID-19 vaccine requirements.
According to the data, the increase is present in sectors with little interpersonal contact as well.
The share of postings broadly requiring vaccines without specifically mentioning COVID surged 90 percent over the month.
Companies such as Disney, Facebook, Google, McDonald’s, Twitter, United Airlines and Walmart announced COVID vaccine mandates.
Nationwide, nearly 700 colleges and universities have announced vaccine requirements with more than 200 health systems doing the same.
