Joe Mitchell, Republican candidate for Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District has officially filed for the Republican Primary to be held on June 2nd. His campaign filed over 3,400 signatures with the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office, nearly double the number of required signatures for ballot access. The campaign also doubled the county signature requirements in all 22 counties of the district.
“We are officially on the ballot after getting thousands of signatures from across Northeast Iowa. I am proud to have built a winning campaign from the ground up, hitting fundraising records, and speaking directly to voters across the district,” said Joe Mitchell. “We have more work to do, but our message is resonating with voters in all political parties. Iowans want a fresh perspective and an end to the corruption and insider game played in Washington. We are doing things differently, and I am excited to make that case on the campaign trail.”
According to the latest fundraising reports, Mitchell has nearly $600,000 in his campaign account, far exceeding any other candidate in the race. This has been accomplished without taking corporate PAC money. He is the only candidate running that has made that commitment.
Joe Mitchell’s campaign was recently endorsed by President Donald Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson. He has also received key endorsements from conservative leaders in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District and from across the country, including House Majority Whip Tom Emmer and House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan. Mitchell also has the support of Turning Point Action, the political arm of the late Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA.
