“The Christian Foundation of the Declaration of Independence”

The event will be held at:

The public is invited to attend.

John Eidsmoe is one of America’s leading voices on the Christian foundations of law, government, and constitutional history. A retired Air Force Lt. Colonel and Judge Advocate, as well as a retired Mississippi State Guard Colonel and Chaplain, Eidsmoe has spent decades teaching constitutional law, Christian apologetics, and the historical roots of American liberty.

He currently serves as Professor of Constitutional Law at Oak Brook College of Law & Government Policy and as Professor of Christian Apologetics for Institute of Lutheran Theology and Chafer Theological Seminary. Throughout his academic career, students have awarded him “Outstanding Professor” and “Professor of the Year” honors five times.

Eidsmoe has also served as Senior Staff Attorney with the Alabama Supreme Court and has filed numerous amicus briefs before the U.S. Supreme Court and other federal courts. He is an ordained pastor with the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations and currently pastors two rural Alabama churches.

In addition to his legal and pastoral work, Eidsmoe has authored 16 books, including Christianity & the Constitution, Historical & Theological Foundations of Law, and God & Caesar. He also hosts the radio program Constitution Classroom and speaks internationally for churches and civic organizations.

The evening presentation will explore the biblical and theological ideas that shaped the Declaration of Independence and influenced the founding principles of the United States.

Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to invite friends, students, pastors, veterans, educators, and anyone interested in the intersection of Christianity, law, and American history.
