The Trojan horse was a huge, hollow, wooden horse constructed by the Greeks to gain entrance into Troy during the Trojan War. The Greeks pretended to desert the war and sailed to a nearby island. A Greek double agent persuaded the Trojans that the horse was an offering to Athena, the goddess of war. He promised that, because of this offering, Athena would guarantee victory for Troy. Despite warnings, the horse was taken inside the city. That night Greek warriors emerged from it and opened the gates to let in the Greek army that had returned. This story, whether true or a legend, is told at length in Book II of the Aeneid and is also mentioned in the Odyssey.

The term “Trojan horse” has come to refer to subversion introduced from the outside.

The Left has used race as their Trojan Horse. They sneak it into conversations and policies in order to redirect people’s thinking in relation to other social issues. It doesn’t matter what issue is being considered; race is introduced into the equation to overpower any opposition.

For example, how do we get rid of a requirement to have a photo ID to vote? We simply say that requiring a photo ID is racist. “…photo ID requirements block millions of eligible American citizens from voting.” It is portrayed that minority, mainly black citizens, for the most part, do not have and are not able to get a photo ID. So, we do away with photo ID requirements to avoid being “racist,” which then allows for chicanery in elections and opens doors for ramming through policies that otherwise would not pass.

It matters not what issue is being considered. If you oppose the policies of the Left, you are automatically a racist. Republican and conservative candidates are labeled as racist simply for being Republican. It doesn’t even matter if the Republican is black, he or she must be racist because they oppose the agenda of the Left. If you oppose abortion, the killing of unborn babies, you are racist. If you oppose the “Green New Deal,” you must be racist. It is even purported that “climate change” overly impacts racial and cultural minorities, so we must reduce our carbon footprint, or we’re racist.

Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg went so far as to say that certain highways and bridges were racist. There is never any explanation for how that is exactly, but just making the accusation allows for increased spending on building or repairing highways and bridges. Whatever the issue, whatever the question, introduce race into the equation. It’s a guaranteed winner!
