A new Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey shows just 25 percent of American adults believe race relations in America are good or excellent. Only eight percent said race relations are excellent.

Thirty-five percent said race relations are poor, which is a drop from 44 percent in April 2021. Forty-five percent said race relations in America are getting worse. That is down from an all-time high of 54 percent last April.

Twenty percent of American adults said race relations in America are getting better — a 16-point gain from last spring. Twenty-nine percent said race relations are staying about the same.

Fewer white American adults (24 percent) rated race relations as good or excellent compared to black American adults (27 percent) and other minorities (29 percent).
