During an appearance on CNN, Vice President Kamala Harris said that President Joe Biden “is running for re-election, and I will be his ticket mate. Full stop.”
She left little room for doubt.

But on Wednesday, Harris clarified her statement, noting that Biden “intends to run” for re-election.
An email from an LA Times reporter to other journalists, including The Iowa Standard, initiated the clarification.
“The president intends to run and if he does, I will be his ticket mate,” she said in her clarification. “We will run together.”
Reports indicate Harris offered the revision in an effort to avoid using “trigger words” that would set off Federal Election Commission requirements for Biden to establish a formal campaign and begin fundraising, according to a Democrat close to the White House.
