Former Democrat turned Independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced on Friday he is suspending his presidential campaign and throwing his support behind President Donald J. Trump. Kennedy said his name would remain on the ballot in red and blue states, but he would withdraw his name from the ballot in key swing states.
Kennedy said according to polls, his inclusion on the ballot in key swing states was likely to lead to a victory for Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris.
In his opening, Kennedy explained how he became a Democrat, but noted the Democrats have “dramatically” veered from the values he grew up with. Democrats are now the party of war, censorship, Big Pharma, Big Ag, Big Tech and big money.
Through the 2024 presidential process, Kennedy said Democrats “abandoned democracy” by essentially canceling the primary. He noted that “democracy” has become little more than a slogan for political institutions, the media and the Democrat Party.
He criticized the primary process as “rigged” and then said Harris was “installed” by the DNC following the “coup” against President Joe Biden.
Kennedy hammered Harris for her refusal to do media interviews and make her policies clear.
“How are people to choose when they do not know whom they are choosing,” Kennedy said. “And how can this look to the rest of the world?”
Government agencies were weaponized not just against Kennedy, but also against Trump, he said. Democracy was abandoned, the opposition was sued and American voters were disenfranchised by the Democrats.
Kennedy then ripped the media for being complicit. He said the DNC and media are “engineering” a surge of popularity for Kamal Harris “based upon nothing.”
When Kennedy announced his support of Trump, he cited three major reasons:
*Free speech
*War in Ukraine
*War on children
Shortly after the assassination attempt on Trump’s life, Kennedy spoke with Trump. He then met with Trump shortly after, saying he was surprised to learn of the many areas of agreement.
Following those conversations, Kennedy said he tried to speak with Harris, but she declined.
Kennedy then spoke at length about the health issues facing Americans, especially children. He said that while America spends more on healthcare than any country, it is 79th in health outcomes.
“Nobody has a chronic disease burden like we have,” he added.
During COVID, America accounted for 16 percent of deaths despite having just 4.2 percent of the world’s population. This is due to chronic illness among Americans. The average person who died from COVID in America had 3.8 chronic diseases, he said.
Two-thirds of American adults and children suffer from chronic health issues. Fifty years ago that was less than 1 percent. Seventy-four percent of Americans are overweight or obese.
In Japan, 3 percent of children are obese while in America that number is 50 percent.
Why? Kennedy blamed ultra-processed foods and chemicals in the environment and medications. He called it a “mass poisoning” of our children and adults.
Kennedy also touched on the corruption between lobbyists, the NIH, FDA, CDC and USDA.
In closing, Kennedy said a President Harris will not allow anyone to solve the problems with Americans’ health. On the other hand, Trump has said he wants his “legacy” to be addressing this epidemic.
“The only thing that will save America and our children is if we choose to love our kids more than we hate each other,” Kennedy said.
