Oregon Gov. Kate Brown made a short video criticizing Florida law that most Americans support, prohibiting teaching students K-3 about sexual orientation and gender identity.
“In Oregon, we say gay,” Brown said. “Oregonians are welcoming of our LGBTQIA community members. We want to make sure that Oregon is a safe, welcoming, inclusive place for all.”
In Oregon, we say gay.
I'm horrified and outraged by the anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation that was just signed in Florida, making schools a less safe space for LGBTQIA+ kids. Oregon will always be a safe, inclusive, and welcoming place — no matter one’s sexual orientation or identity. pic.twitter.com/x2I04Klo0M
