The National Mobilization for Life is a nationwide movement of Pro-Lifers to reengage the Democrat Party’s support for the Right to Life.  Presently, Democrats for Life of America, the Pro-Life Democratic Presidential Draft PAC are the primary organizations, with grassroots activists and voters across America.

2019 was supposed to be the year Pro-Life Democrats went from endangered to extinct.  In 2018 multiple media outlets including Politico, Slate, New York Magazine and others reported on their “extinction” and “uncertain future” of Pro-Life Democrats.

This year, Governor’s Andrew Cuomo and Gavin Newsom enthusiastically declared New York and California safe havens for abortion on demand.  Senator Kristin Gillibrand announced a goal of unseating incumbent Democrat Pro-Life Congressman Dan Lipinski.  2020 Presidential Candidates not only embraced abortion but called for repealing the Hyde Amendment and including tax-funded abortions as part of the widely popular “Medicare For All” proposal.  The objective of this carefully crafted melodrama, pushed to the spotlight by the abortion rights movement and their allies, was to impress on millions of American voters that abortion rights are a foundational part of the Democrat Party platform and identity, while silencing dissent.  The melodrama however didn’t go according to plan.

For one thing the Pro-Life Movement pushed back in ways it hasn’t in decades.  Multiple states passed outright bans on abortion with intent to challenge Roe V. Wade and the Trump Administration passed rules barring abortion providers, especially Planned Parenthood, from receiving federal-tax dollars.  For another Pro-Lifers got loud in the Democrat Party.

In January, Congressman Dan Lipinski and Louisiana State Rep Katrina Jackson spoke at the March for Life.  In March, I started a sixty day Twitter Picket Line for Pro-Life Democrat to run for President and a SLACK Network to connect Pro-Lifers across the country.  I also changed my voter registration from Republican to Democrat and encouraged other Pro-Lifers to participate in 2020 Democrat Primaries.  Kristin Day, Executive Director of Democrats for Life of America, did a media blitz of interviews and political strategist Jacop Lupfer, inspired by the Twitter Picket launched the Pro-Life Dem PAC.  Pro-Life Democrat activist Henry Hewes appeared on the Christian Broadcasting Network and appealed to the same Iowan Evangelical Christians that gave Donald Trump his win at the 2016 Caucuses, to join the Democrat Party and make their voice heard.  This was matched by Rep. Jackson and Democrat Governor John Bel Edwards bucking the national party and passing Louisiana’s heartbeat abortion ban.  Democrats in New Mexico voted to keep pre-Roe laws criminalizing abortion on the books.  And in a stunning move former President Jimmy Carter publicly announced the Democrat Party should abandon it’s abortion plank.  The Washington Times, The Detroit News, National Catholic Reporter, Breitbart, Washington Examiner, Fox News, LifeNews, Knoxville News Sentinel, The Federalist and The Iowa Standard have have ran stories through local and niche media outlets to key constituencies in the Midwest that the Democrat Party needs to win the General election.

With Donald Trump’s aggressive funding moves and Court restructuring, pro-life Democrat Voters are faced with the unique choice of finally crushing the abortion industry by supporting his re-election or demanding a dramatic shift and removal of abortion rights from the National Democrat Platform.  Pro-Life Democrat Voters are no longer a marginalized political minority, they are the swing vote that will help make the results of the 2020 Presidential and Congressional Elections.  While no Pro-Life Democrat has entered the overly crowded 2020 Democrat Primaries, far from going extinct 2019 is the start of Pro-Life Democrats re-emergence as a powerful force with the ability to reshape the Democrat Party’s platform and positions.
