With groceries, utilities, and school expenses constantly climbing, I’m always looking for ways to stretch every dollar, and that starts at the gas pump.
That’s why I’m encouraged to see the House of Representatives pass year-round E15, allowing sales of a lower-cost fuel option made of 15% ethanol. With so much volatility in gas prices, I’d like to thank Iowa’s House delegation for their full support of this family-friendly legislation. Analysts calculate E15 generates savings of 10 to 30 cents per gallon compared to traditional gasoline. For a family running two vehicles, that adds up fast.
The way I see it, E15 is just smart energy policy that expands consumer choice, supports American-made fuel, and puts money back in the pockets of hard-working drivers. E15 is already proven and available, but outdated laws keep it from being sold during the summer months without a government waiver. Allowing it year-round and nationwide just removes unnecessary government restrictions.
I urge Senators Grassley and Ernst to keep pressing for swift action in the Senate. Iowa families can’t afford to wait. This one’s a no-brainer.

Reads like a radio ad. Please explain even if with a link “Analysts calculate E15 generates savings of 10 to 30 cents per gallon compared to traditional gasoline.” It might be convincing if it actually incorporates MPG comparisons, true costs even if dissipated through marketing mandates and tax exemptions source to source, oh, and the physics and chemistry of energy inputs and results product to product. Maybe to be convincing as to utility include forgone uses of the productive land as to food prices and or depletions and maybe reflect on how the CO2 scare which actually drives the boondoggle is actually affected. Pipelines threatening eminent domain used against farmers to pump at high pressure that terrible gas resulting from production of ethanol which was never revealed, or glossed over by proponents of ethanol back in the day when corn for ethanol was pumped up as the solution to that nefarious gas that endangers the planet. And maybe reflect on how the green movement, the products large scale genesis has turned on it for being an actual net environmental harm.
