Several folks who read this letter will recall that I’ve volunteered extensively with the GOP at the county and state level for nearly 40 years. Although we moved to MO, I still pay close attention to the Iowa political scene.
My opinion: the choice for the Gubernatorial primary race should be Eddie Andrews. He’s the Iowa and Iowans First, America First, US Constitution loving candidate who many believe can win in the general election, if he is the Republican nominee.
Iowa Republicans need to be strategic by choosing the candidate who can bring victory for the GOP in the general in November. Eddie has clearly articulated in detail what his priorities and responsibilities will be as Iowa’s next Governor. He’s shown with his Iowa House legislation (i.e. Mental Health reform, educational choice, parental rights and property rights, to name a few) and positions that he’s quite capable of leading from the Right. He’s also shown that he will listen to ALL Iowans. He always has. Of note: He’s fluent in Spanish and served as a bilingual Christian pastor. Eddie has degrees in electrical and computer engineering. And, he has a very strong entrepreneurial background. Eddie also volunteers extensively with several community nonprofits.
Eddie is known for his strong engagement with his constituents and extensive involvement with many Iowan advocacy groups. Eddie has been running for Iowa Governor since June of 2025.
My strongest recommendation to my Iowa Republican friends:
Vote Eddie Andrews on June 2nd.
