Rep. Randy Feenstra has delivered real results for Iowa. In the state Senate, as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, he helped pass what has widely been recognized as the largest state income tax cut in Iowa history, along with meaningful property tax relief. Those changes put more money back in the pockets of families, farmers, and small business owners. Iowans are wealthier and able to more economically raise their families because of his quiet work. Iowa went from being one of the worst states for taxes to one of the best. Ten years ago I wouldn’t have believed people would be considering Iowa as place to live and retire because of the state tax structures.
In Congress, he serves on both the House Ways and Means Committee and the Agriculture Committee, the only Iowa member to hold both seats. This gives him direct influence over some of the most powerful committees and the tax, trade, and farm policies that matter most to our state. He has worked to expand access to capital for small businesses and rural communities, raise loan limits for manufacturers, and encourage investment in American production.
On core conservative principles, Feenstra has been consistent and strong. He holds a lifetime Heritage Action score of 81 percent, one time scoring as high as 96, and has earned an A+ rating from Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America for his unwavering defense of the unborn and opposition to taxpayer funding of abortion. He has defended religious liberty, championed parental rights in education, has helped loosen the grip of the teachers union, and pushed back against government overreach into families and faith-based organizations. His faith is not a campaign slogan. I’ve seen it shapes a consistent pattern of votes that align with the values many Iowans cherish.
Feenstra also proved his effectiveness by challenging and defeating a longtime incumbent in his own party’s primary before earning decisive re-elections. That record shows both his ability to win and the trust voters continue to place in him.
Some conservative voices have raised questions about his record. Healthy scrutiny is certainly fair. We should expect a lot from those who represent us in Washington. But when we look at the full picture, Feenstra has delivered tangible tax relief, stood strong for agriculture, protected life and liberty, and governed with steady conviction rooted in Iowa’s priorities.
I’ll take his conservative hard work and real results over a firebrand type of conservative who may be good at pulling the party to the right, but may ultimately be ineffective in getting the actual conservative agenda work done. I’ve seen him stay loyal to conservative ideals for many years, and for that reason, I remain loyal to Randy Feenstra.
