As Iowa Republicans prepare to vote for the next governor, I encourage all of us who want to win in November to take a serious look at Zach Lahn.
What sets Lahn apart is that he is a farmer, businessman, and father. NOT a politician or bureaucrat. His campaign has focused on an “Iowa First” vision, centered on strengthening families, protecting Iowa farmland, and pushing back against the influence of powerful interests that many of us believe have too much sway over public policy.
Whether you agree with every position he takes or not, there is value in a candidate who speaks plainly about the issues he believes matter most, and focuses on the root cause of an issue instead of focusing on empty rhetoric to look good on TV. Lahn’s answers on the debate stage and campaign trail show he prioritizes accountability to us, the grassroots voters, not political insiders. Lahn has consistently argued that Iowa’s government should put Iowa communities, Iowa farmers, and Iowa families first.
Our state faces important challenges and opportunities this cycle, and I believe Zach Lahn offers a fresh perspective, an independent voice, and a commitment to putting Iowans first. For those reasons, I am supporting him and I encourage my fellow Iowans who want to win in November to learn more about his vision before casting their ballots.
