If there was ever any doubt that certain state government officials are working to take away local control from the people of Iowa, then SF376 should remove all doubt.   I refer to it as the communist take-over bill of local jurisdictions.  This bill is sponsored by Republican Senator Mike Klimesh of district 32.    Senator Klimesh is promoting a bill that favors big, wealthy corporate interests over the will of the people.

Do we want Iowa to turn into a “blue, liberal” state like Michigan, New York and Illinois that have stripped local control to permit large-scale wind and solar projects?   Wind and solar developers are trying to ram their projects down the throats of an unwilling and un-wanting public. These companies are working over-time to push this agenda because the public is wising up to the false promises of wind and solar.  County governments are carrying out the wishes of their constituents by enacting moratoriums and ordinances to stop projects, all because of the growing citizen opposition to these project developments in their neighborhoods. Over half of Iowa counties have created some form of regulation of wind and solar projects due to this overwhelming opposition.

Who better to know the wishes of the people than the local jurisdictions?

Contact your state legislators and tell them “NO” on SF376.
