The corrupt retailers peddling illegal, Chinese-made vape devices are no better than the major food and pharmaceutical corporations that have profited from poisoning our children—all while politicians turned a blind eye. After years of inaction, Attorney General Pam Bondi and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have finally stepped up with recent raids on illegal vape shops.
As a mother, I’m relieved that the federal government is at last taking the illegal vaping epidemic seriously. Our children deserve better than to be targeted by these shops, which not only sell illicit vapes but often serve as fronts for even graver crimes involving guns, drugs, and more. Through initiatives like Operation Vape Trail, Attorney General Bondi, Secretary Kennedy, and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary are fulfilling President Trump’s pledge to hold lawbreakers accountable.
They deserve our profound gratitude. The same goes for leaders like Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird and our Washington representatives, Rep. Ashley Hinson and Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, who have pushed for action against the illegal vaping crisis through letters to Presidents Trump and Biden, as well as bipartisan legislation.
It’s high time our leaders prioritized our children’s well-being.
