As lifelong residents of Iowa, we appreciate the honest, common-sense way most Iowans live, and the personal responsibility that characterizes the majority of our citizens.
We are so thankful that we have Brad Sherman as a candidate for Governor, because he understands Midwest values, respectfully considers all viewpoints, and loves the people of our state.
Mr. Sherman recognizes that our liberties come from God, not government.
He recognizes his first allegiance is to God. Humbly serving God by upholding the Constitutions of Iowa and the United States is his goal in being a public servant.
We quote one of his recent publications “…when virtue is taught and when more people become self-governing, big government is not necessary and smaller government becomes possible. These virtues of which (Benjamin) Franklin and our founders spoke, are based on the Scriptures and the values portrayed through the life of Jesus Christ.”
Mr. Sherman is an independent thinker, relying upon his foundation of Biblical knowledge and his experience to inform his positions, rather than on parroting a party line. He showed himself to be a champion of our state constitution when he publicly called for the removal of a satanic display at the Iowa Capitol. Citing the Iowa Constitution itself, which expresses gratitude “to the Supreme Being for the blessings hitherto enjoyed, and feeling our dependence on Him for a continuation of those blessings…” he recognized that our state cannot continue to enjoy God’s blessings while allowing public and direct opposition to His rule.
Mr. Sherman realizes that government’s job is to protect individual liberties, enforce the law and require people to operate within its framework. We believe Mr. Sherman is the best choice to lead Iowa into the future.
