Dear Governor Reynolds,

This is my middle schooler. And this is his team.

I appreciate all you are doing to equally open Iowa, keep business thriving, and keep people safe. In my town, we have rec baseball through 6th grade. And 8th graders could option up to play high school ball this year under your orders. This is my seventh-grader. The only kid in the house of four kids not allowed to play ball.

I appreciate your judgment but want to know why he sits out while everyone else gets to play. My 5-year old who picks her nose is playing T-ball. But my son sits on the bench. This will hurt the program. You will get a chunk of kids that will take the year off….. then not return to the sport.

I don’t think it’s a good call. And I’d appreciate you thinking it over. Please consider allowing middle school baseball. Or, please explain why not. My middle schooler just doesn’t understand.
