President Donald Trump (yes I still think he ought to be president or at least, as opposed to Charles Grassley and Mo Brooks, should have had a meaningful chance to establish the legitimacy of the claim) has famously taken back his endorsement of Mo Brooks in his Alabama Senate primary.  Reading both Trump’s and Brooks’ statements about the matter I do not see how substantively Trump’s new opinion and criticism of Brooks should not apply to our Senator Grassley or how Brook’s defense of his views would not be endorsed by Grassley.  It seems to me consistency now requires Trump to “go neutral” as regards the Iowa Republican Senate  primary.
