One Iowa released an email early Thursday morning, claiming victory over the 2021 Iowa legislative session.

“We are excited to announce that all 15 original bills plus the last second attacks on transgender youth have been defeated,” the email said. “Through cooperative work with our coalition members, our business partners, and YOU, we were able to accomplish this astonishing feat in the middle of a pandemic. That is certainly something to celebrate.”

One Iowa is warning that the bills will be eligible for debate next year, however, and cautioned that Gov. Kim Reynolds “has her sights set on transgender youth.”

“We fought a record number of anti-LGBTQ bills on every imaginable topic, and we beat every single one of them,” the email said.

One Iowa asked supporters to email Gov. Reynolds and demanded she veto the Back the Blue bill.
