Democrat Liz Mathis lost her bid for Congress on Tuesday. And on Friday her campaign sent out an email asking for supporters to send a donation to help with the “shutdown fund.”
“Tuesday’s results were not what we had hoped for, but Liz and the rest of our team, our volunteers and our supporters are not out of this fight yet,” the email said. “We’re emailing now with a necessary request. We need help with our shutdown fund.
“Shutting down a campaign is a part of the political process most people don’t think about. But we still have to pay our final bills and send our staff off with the end-of-year support they deserve after working so hard for the last year and a half. Can you show Liz you still support her by contributing to our shutdown fund?”
