Mary Greeley President and CEO, a man called Brian Dieter, put out a statement regarding the situation at the hospital surrounding COVID-19. He called this a “critical time.”
“At Mary Greeley, the number of patients we’re treating for COVID is at one of the highest levels we’ve seen since the pandemic began,” he said. “Our Emergency Department is incredibly busy. Our inpatient beds are filling up. Our staff, who have been so resilient and committed, are stretched thing.
“This situation is incredibly challenging and we’re likely to be in it for the next several weeks. We’ll get through this, but we need your help.
“If you haven’t already, please get vaccinated.
“Practice physical distancing and be mindful of your risk for exposure. Ask yourself if that social gathering is really worth the risk?
“Wear a mask whenever you’re out in public.
“Take care of yourself, especially this time of year when weather and flu pose a threat. COVID isn’t the only reason people are in the hospital.
“By taking these simple steps, you’re helping keep yourself, your loved ones and your community safe. You will also be helping relieve the pressure on hospitals and clinics.”
If Mary Greeley would turn away COVID patients with a BMI of 30, there would be a large surplus of beds…
