Republican Senator Mitch McConnell announced he is in support of the “framework” 10 other Republican senators compromised with Democrats for in hopes of curtailing gun violence.

“For myself, I’m comfortable with the framework,” McConnell said. “And if the legislation ends up reflecting what the framework indicates, I’ll be supportive.”

Meanwhile, Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley said he was “encouraged” to hear about the bipartisan compromise but couldn’t say whether he would support the legislation without seeing the text of the bill first.

Conservatives across the country have cautioned against the compromise. More details will be released when made available.
