Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell discussed the events of Jan. 6, 2021 this week.

“It was a violent insurrection. With the purpose of trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election from one administration to the next. That’s what it was,” McConnell said.

He also said the RNC should not have censured Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. Cheney and Kinzinger were censured by the RNC for their work on the House’s Jan. 6 Committee.

Senator Chuck Grassley, one of McConnell’s most loyal allies in the U.S. Senate, told Iowa reporters on Tuesday that the purpose of a political party is to “bring in as many members as you can.”

“I like to think of the Republican Party as being a big-tent party, everybody is welcome,” he reportedly said.

  1. “I like to think of the Republican Party as being a big-tent party, everybody is welcome,” he reportedly said.

That’s an idiotic statement barring any caveat. Where would Abraham Lincoln’s republican party be if they let pro-slavery Whigs into the party?

In hindsight, we now know that neocons would rather side with Marxists as long as they can have their nonstop wars, defending borders of far away countries than defending our borders. Or use the police state to suppress our liberties and rights. Liz and Adam failed to uphold their oaths to the Constitution and by their actions, they were booted from the RNC.

Anyone who second guesses the will of the people that the RNC only draws scrutiny on their motives. To whit, where were these “sage” voices when Steven King was stripped of his committee positions and ultimately driven out? It’s our party and We the People are taking it back.
