Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the Mexican President, made clear who he blames for the border crisis between the two countries.

“Expectations were created that with the government of President Biden, there would be a better treatment of migrants. And this has caused Central American migrants, and also from our country, wanting to cross the border thinking that it is easier to do so,” Obrador said during a Tuesday press conference.

Obrador is considered a “left-wing” politician. Newsweek reported that Obrador blamed Biden for making things worse at the border later in the same press conference by ignoring the fact smugglers and traffickers are capitalizing on the mass migration.

Earlier this month Obrador told Biden during a virtual meeting that migrants “see (Biden) as the migrant president, and so many feel they’re going to reach the United States.”

While the Biden administration are attempting to sell the idea that President Donald J. Trump’s administration is to blame for the crisis, nobody is buying it.
