On Tuesday night, Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks released the following statement after winning the Republican primary for Iowa’s First Congressional District
“I’m humbled and honored to be your Republican nominee for Iowa’s First District, and grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me,” said Rep. Miller-Meeks. “Our fight for Iowa families is far from over.
I spent 24 years in the Army, became a nurse, and then a doctor caring for Iowa families. I watched Washington and big corporations make life harder for the people I treated, and I knew Iowans deserved someone willing to fight back. Our state faces serious challenges, and Iowans deserve someone serious about solving them, not a radical progressive like Christina Bohannan.
The contrast could not be clearer. We back our police. Christina Bohannan voted to let cities defund them. We secured the border. Bohannan funded groups that want to abolish ICE. We cut taxes on Social Security. Bohannan voted to tax it. We protected girls’ sports for girls. Bohannan voted against our daughters and even wanted Medicaid to pay for sex-change surgery.
I’ve beaten Christina Bohannan twice because I fight for Iowa values, while she fights for a woke agenda Iowa families can’t afford. This November, with your help, we will keep fighting for Iowa.”
