A proposed resolution would change the word “mother” in contacts for the National Education Association to “birthing parent” as the group attempts to be more inclusive to the LGBTQIA+ community.

This particular resolution, however, was not ultimately brought forward for a vote at the Representative Assembly.

Tiffany Justice of Moms for Liberty said she is now calling the NEA the “K-12 Cartel,” according to Fox News.

Nicole Neily said “normal people” do not use terms like “chestfeeding or birthing person.” Neily is with Parents Defending Education.

“I think it just further underscores how completely out of touch the teachers’ unions…are from the concerns of normal parents,” she reportedly said.
