Never Back Down is launching their 8th television ad, “Grit” on Monday, July 31st. The ad states, “Uniforms don’t define a man, but they do tell a story,” and highlights Governor DeSantis’s story through the uniforms he’s worn throughout his life. From working as an electrician’s assistant to pay for college, leading Yale’s baseball team, and volunteering to serve our country after 9/11, the Governor’s story shows how the American dream takes grit.

The thirty-second spot will air in Iowa and New Hampshire, as well as nationally on Fox News and Newsmax as part of a seven-figure TV ad buy. The new ad follows the Governor’s Iowa bus tour, hosted by Never Back Down, where he met with fellow veterans at the Freedom Rock in Appanoose County, stopped by the ‘Welcome Home Soldier’ monument in Albia, and toured the CJ3 Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping treat and care for Iowa’s veterans.

Here is the full transcript for Grit:

Uniforms don’t define a man, but they do tell a story.

Ron DeSantis wore an electrician’s assistant uniform making six bucks an hour to pay for college, earned a Yale Bulldogs baseball jersey, voted team captain, and led his team to victories.

After 9/11, volunteered to serve America in combat fatigues as a Jag with the Navy Seals in Iraq.

The American dream takes grit like Ron DeSantis never backing down.

  1. The article mentions Gov DeSantis’ new bus tour in Iowa. I wonder if the readership is aware of verified incidents of the N.B.D Pac paying, and bussing in from out of state, large numbers of persons that are not Iowa residents to DeSantis events to give the appearance of hightened DeSantis support in that area. This has been published in Raw Story as well as a local newspaper in DeSantis’ home state. Sounds to me like he’s wearing another uniform, that of cheating hypocrite.
