Norwalk Superintendent D.T. Magee sent a message to families in the district on Friday about the upcoming school board meeting on Monday.

The board will consider a mask mandate. The current mitigation plan for the district recommends wearing of masks in school buildings.

Magee is asking parents not to attend in person and instead submit their comment in written form prior to the meeting.

“Due to the space limitations of the Lakewood Elementary cafeteria and the time limitations of public forum set by Board Policy 213 Public Participation in Board Meetings, the board is requesting written comments on this agenda item topic from the Norwalk CSD community to help the board make an informed decision about this question,” the email states.

“Students, staff members, families and community members may share their thoughts and opinions on the requirement of facial coverings by clicking HERE.”

The comments will be shared with the board prior to the meeting on Monday.

Comments are to be submitted by noon on Sunday.
