Cindy Axne endorsed repealing Title 42, saying, “It’s really just about when you’re in a pandemic or any other specific issue that your country is facing, the federal government has authority to put pieces in place to protect you. When that ends, you’re supposed to take those pieces out.”
Republicans and numerous Democrats oppose repealing Title 42 because the Department of Homeland security estimates “that up to 18,000 migrants could be apprehended at the border each day if Title 42 were to be lifted.”
