On Tuesday, Nunn for Congress released a new TV ad titled “Nabi.” The ad shares the story of an Afghan man named Nabi Mohammadi who served 9 combat tours embedded with U.S. forces as a translator and ally to the U.S. military during the war in Afghanistan. After the disastrous and unplanned withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan by President Biden, not only were American lives lost but Americans and Afghan allies like Nabi were left behind.
As a combat veteran with previous missions and military connections in Afghanistan, Zach Nunn joined Task Force Argo, a group of volunteers who are actively working to evacuate Americans and Afghan Allies left behind. Task Force Argo has now successfully evacuated 3,000 people from the war-torn, now Taliban controlled Afghanistan.
“The military motto that I and so many other American servicemembers live by is ‘No One Left Behind’. But that’s exactly what Joe Biden did,” said Zach Nunn. “Biden’s disastrous withdrawal and weak leadership has cost Americans their lives and many others since the fallout. I could not sit by and watch, I have a duty to spring into action and leave no one behind. Now Nabi and his family are safe in the United States. In Congress, I’ll have the same motto – and I won’t sit idly by while Americans are struggling. I will deliver results and I will always do what’s right.”
The ad can be watched below:
Nabi: “When I saw the chaos at the airport, I was heartbroken. It was a river of blood. I’m a former Afghan translator, we had to do something to get the family out of the country.”
TV anchor: “Zach Nunn of Bondurant is helping fund and coordinate a private rescue mission to evacuate people from Afghanistan.”
Nabi: “Zach Nunn is a man of action. I don’t think anyone else would represent Iowa better than Zach Nunn.”
