As reported by The Oregonian, the Oregon Court of Appeals ruled that the divisive commutations of thousands of violent criminals granted by Governor Brown were lawful.

While her ability to grant clemency was ruled to be within the bounds of her authority, Governor Brown’s act is further proof of Oregon Democrats’ soft on crime priorities that disregard and disrespect victims and their families.

Tina Kotek has been a firm supporter of Brown’s reckless release of violent criminals and, like her Democrat colleague Betsy Johnson, has a voting record plagued with policies that have done nothing but exacerbate the state’s crime crisis.

“Add this shameful act of blanket commutations and misuse of executive power to the failed Governor Kate Brown’s legacy, rubber-stamped by her allies Tina Kotek and Betsy Johnson,” said RGA Spokeswoman Kaitlin Price. “Oregonians are desperate for real relief from the crime that has run them out of their homes, shut down their businesses, and from the leaders who worry more about criminals than victims.”
