Sarah Beckman, an “Emmy-award-winning executive producer for WOI-TV,” covered the Westside Conservative Club event featuring Mike Pompeo on Friday at the Iowa Machine Shed.

Beckman tweeted it was the longest amount of time she’s spent inside a restaurant full of people for the first time in over a year.

“Just media members and Pompeo’s security wearing masks, along with about two people in the crowd,” she said.

For the record, there was at least one member of the media who didn’t wear a mask (me).

Dr. Nathan Boonstra, who “debunks vaccine myths like Spock & McCoy combined” and notes he has “read the inserts,” said he hopes Beckman is vaccinated.

“Unfortunately, I am not,” she said. “I don’t fall into any of the current tiers.”

One Twitter user said they hope Beckman wasn’t in the room too long.

“These people are spreading a deadly virus,” they said.

Another noted there is “not a lot of diversity in that room.”

A “feminist, Democrat, Iowan, poor, single mom, always a Warren Democrat” tweeted that it “should be criminal.”

Another member of the tolerant Left said maybe all attendees will become seriously ill from COVID and have effects that last through November 2022.
