Iowa Secretary of State said on Twitter early Wednesday morning that he is calling on Des Moines County and Warren County to conduct “administrative recounts” immediately.

Linn County informed the Secretary of State’s office they were still uploading absentee numbers. Then, due to technical problems, Pate said he is calling on the administrative recounts in the other two counties.

“Those results will not be available tonight,” he said. “These delays in total affect approximately 30,000 ballots. I will ensure the ballots will be counted and the integrity of Iowa’s elections will be maintained.”
